Plymouth Writers Group have made a decision that regrettably, they will not be proceeding with their 2019 Short Story Competition details of which have already been promulgated. The competition which normally opens on 1st November of each year, is now “on hold” for the immediate future.

The 5 entries judged to be best will be included in the PWG 2019 Anthology.

Our 2019 competition opens for entries on 1 November 2019 and closes on 31 January 2020.  Up to 1500 words (min 1000) with an open subject matter.  £5 entry fee per entry with a £250 First Prize, £50 Second Prize and the first five in order of merit being included for free in our annual anthology.  One of the unique features of the Plymouth Writers Group contest is that judging of entries is carried out by two teams.  One from the English & Creative Writing Department of the University of Plymouth and the others by Plymouth Writers Group.  All entries are adjudicated by both teams.

Entries should be submitted by Email as a Word document attachment and sent to PWGcompetitions@Gmail.com.

Must be submitted in Times New Roman 12 font, in double spacing. Minimum 1000 words, maximum 1500 words, with story title at the top of page 1.
The anonymised submission must be sent as an attachment to the competition entry E mail.  The Email must contain the contact details of
the author, name, address and relevant postcode/country.  In addition please identify how the £5 entry fee has been paid, e.g. PayPal or Bank
Credit.
